The first step in the redesign of this site was the removal of existing plants. The Yews were overgrown
and completely covering the beautiful front porch of this Colonial Home. Now, the Homeowner can enjoy the summer evenings
on their new and open front porch!
A few splashes of color brighten up the new planting beds. The bed edge is curved to compliment the flagstone path,
making the entry-way more inviting.
A U-shaped bed at the turn in the path helps to frame the flagstone path edge - creating more of a natural look.
Again, the existing bushes were removed and replaced with more colorful plantings. The addition of fresh mulch to all of the beds
helps to create a clean, fresh look.
Project 03 - Complete Redesign:
At the entryway of this Boalsburg Storefront, a bench provides a place for visitors to rest during their tour of the village.
The previous gravel material was uneven, with pieces of the weed matting showing in some areas. The new flagstone patio is the perfect fit for this
beautiful gift shop!
Several of the existing plants were overgrown or dead. All of the existing plants were removed and the addition of mushroom compost
to the beds created a heathly environment for the new plants. The addition of a few rocks creates a focal point in what would otherwise be a narrow bed. The
walkway is now clear and inviting...allowing a path to the back yard.
Again, the overgrown plants were removed, as well as a leggy holly bush. The soil was fortified with compost for the new plantings - including the
whimsical Walking Stick Plant. A broken pot was used to create an interesting planting area in the raised bed. The addition of mulch to all of the beds creates a clean, finished
look.
